We expect this is just the starting.
The current-generation Audi RS6 Avant has 591 horsepower (441 kilowatts) driving all four wheels. It is comfortable for five passengers and is provided with an add-on group of tires, in case you automatically wear out the rubber on the road. Now, ABT has made it superior by enhancing the speed.
The first step towards the new ABT RS6-R we displayed last December. The package is not yet completed –still lots more to come later in April. The Audi / VW tuner is beginning with an enhancement in the power performance that raised the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to 690 hp (515 kW). ABT doesn’t disclose the complete information on all modifications made, but the core of the enhancement is a new engine control unit with a tune that’s definitely more energetic than what you get from the factory.
Apart from that, ABT introduces “a whole set of engine protection guidelines to offer you with remorse-free driving pleasure.” As for that, ABT says the enhanced RS6 Avant touches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. There’s no talk on speed. Not sure whether the speed limiter is pulled out or not– a stock RS6 has a top speed of 155 mph but we expect this wagon would speed up more than the mark. Even there’s no information on suspension modifications at this point in time.
We are not sure whether complete power is there with the whole release in April. Earlier ABT RS6 projects were more than 700 hp, and with other tuners getting the new Avant appro. to 800 hp (597 kW).
