We get a lot of enquires about brake disc upgrades and pads.

With regards to the Brake pads, it is always the customer’s preference what he prefers, what he expects from the pads etc. Based on our long year experience, we recommend the right pads  to go with the brake disc upgrade.

 

Question about pads our customers should let us know about, so we can recommend the best ones in CONJUNCTION with the choice of discs:

 

-              Is the customer only driving on public roads or also occasionally on track?

-              Does the driver brake hard often or is the car used more for cruising with occasional acceleration and moderate breaking?

-              If the customer doesn’t want the breaks to squeak at all, he cannot opt for race pads. Is occasional squeaking okay or not preferred at all?

-              Is the customer breaking often from high speeds so the brake pads often develop high heat? If yes, ‘normal’ pads will tend to wear off quicker or fail faster

 

If customer prefers the popular combination of sporty or spirited driving with occasional fast breaking, no race track participation – we can always recommend a pad set with the selected discs.

 

Also, pads are selected AFTER the customer selected the preferred disc

•             Tarox Zero with smooth, untreated friction surface. Higher friction factor vs. OEM discs.

•             F2000 with curved slots. Robust discs especially resistant against stress cracks. The slots create a turbine effect which is beneficial towards heat dispersion. Minimised risks of warps, development of vibrations, stress cracks.

•             Sport Japan discs with combined slotted / drilled design. Heat and brake abrasion are minimised – the 2 main factors for fading.  

•             D95 with drilled surface. The drilled holes disperse heat and minimise abrasion. .

•             C83 with five short slots for heat dispersion.
