The modern-generation Touareg indicates the completion of an era as it’s the last model from the core Volkswagen brand that has a V8 TDI engine. Launched earlier in the month of March as a low alternative to the Audi SQ7 and the Bentley Bentayga Diesel, the flagship SUV from Wolfsburg packs the same 4.0-liter unit that makes it the ideal towing vehicle, thanks to its massive torque of 900 Newton-meters (664 pound-feet).
For whatever reason, If you think it is still not up to the mark, ABT will passionately work on the diesel giant to fetch huge 970 Nm (715 lb-ft). The increment in torque along with a good amount of horsepower a massive boost from the series 416 horsepower to 493 hp. While performance numeric has not been revealed by the Kempten-based tuner, we’re confident that the modded Touareg V8 Diesel requires lesser than the 4.9 seconds needed by the standard SUV to finish the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h). After all, it does pack an add-on of 77 hp and 70 Nm (51 lb-ft).
Those of you are thinking the V8 Touareg’s €89,825 asking price in Germany is slightly steep, even smaller V6 diesel has enhanced its output from 282 hp and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) to 326 hp and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft).
ABT has changed the VW stock wheels to create space for its own tailor-made group of 22-inch alloys finished in either gray or black. There are various other rim designs that customers can choose from, apart from these different items including the LED fixed entrance lights for the front doors, highlighting the company’s logo onto the floor.
